Which city to stay the night in north east Texas?

We’ll be passing through Dallas, Tx on our way to Shreveport, LA and may need to stop for the night between these two locations. I know its just small towns in between like Myrtle Springs, etc… - which town(s) do you recommend and why? Looking to stay close to the I-20. Thank you!
This is a road trip to move me to Florida - so that is the ultimate destination. But I need good options of where to stop for the night if we need to. Specific hotels are great too! Thanks!

Are there Any Hotels in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA that offer Shuttle Service to the Casinos?
